Asian Pride: Queer Solidarity Against Anti-Asian Racism
Asian Heritage Month is the time to celebrate the richness of Asian Cultures, but it’s also a call to remind us of the resilience, beauty, and struggles of Asian communities –especially queer and trans Asians who face intersecting forms of discrimination. In this public session, we will explore the roots and impact of anti-Asian racism, its ties to colonialism and White supremacy, and how queer and trans solidarity can be a powerful force for change.
What you will gain:
- Historical and intersectional context on anti-Asian racism and its impact on queer Asian communities
- Tools to recognize and challenge racial stereotypes, microaggressions, and systemic exclusion
- Strategies for practicing allyship and solidarity that center queer Asian voices to foster collective liberation
Proceeds go to support The 519’s vital work for 2 Spirit, trans, non-binary and gender diverse communities.
