Green Space Festival Volunteer

With world-class music producers, extraordinary performers, drag royalty, and a whole lotta love, this 5-day outdoor party is the can’t-miss event of Pride Month in Toronto. More than a party, Green Space Festival is The 519’s biggest fundraising event of the year, helping power the year-round programs it provides to 2SLGBTQ+ communities in Toronto and beyond.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Green Space Festival. We’d love for you to join us!

Volunteer Requirements:

To become a Green Space Festival volunteer, attendance at our mandatory training session is required. This ensures that all Volunteers are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute effectively to the event. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Volunteer Roles:

Bar Team

  • Responsibilities include selling, mixing, and serving beverages to our guests
  • Smart Serve Certification is required for this role. Don’t have a valid certificate but interested in this role? Let us know!

Guest Services

  • Serve us your best smile as you help welcome our party guests to the venue!
  • Responsibilities include providing information to attendees, answering inquiries, offering
  • support, and assisting with line and crowd management

Canvassers

  • Bring your fabulous personality to this role as you engage party guests and ask if they’d like to donate to The 519
  • Responsibilities include walking through the event to greet party guests, foster connections, and collect donations for The 519

Venue Team

  • Shantay You Stay…but not in one place! This role is for the volunteer who’s happy to support us with the various tasks that come up during our party!
  • Responsibilities can include covering for other volunteer duties where more help may be needed, helping us keep our party guests happy and safe, ensuring Club 519 Lounge is kept tidy and clear or clutter, and clearing cans and cups from around the venue.

Food Services

  • There’s no party without food! Help us make sure our guests are partying responsibly with some food in their belly.
  • Responsibilities can include helping with food preparation activities, taking food orders, and packaging and selling food items to our party guests.

Volunteer Headquarters (HQ)

  • Support the operation of our headquarters, where all things staff and volunteer preparations, and relaxation take place
  • Responsibilities include assisting with the set-up and tear-down of the headquarters area, supporting the volunteer and staff check-in/out procedures, and helping make sure break items in the room are kept stocked.
