As a local resident of the Church & Wellesley neighbourhood for 20 years, I’ve had a front row seat to how our community has changed. And since joining The 519’s Board of Management nearly a decade ago, and now serving as Board Chair for the past year, I’ve had the incredible privilege of seeing the positive impact The 519 is making for 2SLGBTQ+ communities and the local Church & Wellesley neighbourhood. From supporting the community through the pandemic, to standing up to increasing attacks on trans communities and rights, to creating spaces to celebrate queer joy, The 519 has remained steadfast in serving our community.
