The Expand Project
Program Types: Nicotine Reduction/Cessation Support
The Expand Project is starting and expanding conversations on commercial tobacco and nicotine use amongst queer and trans young adults ages 18 to 29. These conversations allow us to meet folks where they’re at by understanding the various needs, realities and life priorities for individuals and communities. The project is informed by community advisors from each city and project stakeholders. We’re working together to create and share culturally aware and accurate information and resources that encourage folks to reflect on their smoking and vaping use as individuals and as communities.
The project offers:
-
Bi-annual incentivized quit contests
-
Community-provided activities to support mental health and non-judgemental quit coaches
-
FREE 4-week trial pack of nicotine replacement therapy and a mental health support resource locator
-
Community events and paid volunteer opportunities
-
Campaigns and promotional materials (SWAG!)
