Lasting Memories – Celebrating the lives of our friends
Join us to honour the lives and lasting memories of 2SLGBTQ+ community members and neighbours we have lost.
Our work at The 519 is rooted in love and resilience, but we also know the heartbreak that comes from working within systems that continue to fail so many—especially those impacted by the drug war and the war on the unhoused. This loss weighs heavy on us all. Taking time to grieve together, to reflect, and to celebrate the joy our community brings is essential. Starting this May 2025, we will hold a monthly gathering on the first Friday of each month to honour those we’ve lost.
This is a peer-led community grieving space that welcomes all our community members, we will centering the experiences of those living rough, without homes, sex workers, and people who use drugs.
Candlelight vigil, memories book, and snacks will be available.
Friday, May 2, and the first Friday of every month
3 to 5 pm, drop-in at The 519 [519 Church St.]
