Program Types: Arts and Culture, Youth Programming,

The 519’s Kids Action and Arts Space (KAAS) is a free, drop-in program that offers youth who are 6 to 9 years old a fun place to connect, meet friends and new peers.

The 519 is collaborating with community artists and educators to facilitate arts and movement-based activities for two-spirit, queer, trans, and non-binary youth, as well as the youth of queer and trans families. We are utilizing storytelling and connections to the body through arts, dance, music, and movement-based activities. Our goal is to ensure we’re creating spaces for all folks within 2SLGBTQ+ communities and that we are prioritizing QTIBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Intersex, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) voices in programming.

Collectively, we strive to create a safer, supportive, and inspiring space where everyone – from facilitators to participants – can bring their full selves into the space, feel celebrated and continue to develop and strengthen their skills in self-expression.
