Canada Christian College is run by Charles McVety, a notorious and vocal bigot who publicly perpetrates homophobia, transphobia, and Islamophobia. Granting accreditation to the college puts our communities at risk. It will leave them vulnerable and unsafe, not knowing where to turn when experiencing such blatant discrimination because our Premier and his colleagues welcome it, causing further revictimization.
The 519 calls on Premier Ford and his government to do the right thing. Our communities demand that the college be prevented from becoming an accredited, university degree-granting institution.
Our Board Chair Pam Hrick and Board Vice-Chair Paul Jonathan Saguil will speak at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario committee meeting at 1 pm today (November 27, 2020) to ask the committee to excise Schedule 2 from Bill 213 and prevent the college from becoming an accredited university.
