Changes to The 519 Board of Management

The Board of Management of The 519 appointed a new executive for the 2014-2015 year at its meeting on November 24, 2014.

Margo Foster will become Chair of the Board of Management, serving alongside newly appointed Vice-Chair of the Board Jacob Porpossian and Tom Lewis, who is appointed Treasurer. Luc Levasseur returns as Secretary, a position he held during the 2013-2014 year.

Having served on the Board for four years, Margo Foster is a manager of academic resources at Seneca College and has worked in a range of non-profit and public sector organizations. Prior to being elected Chair, she served as a member of the executive committee in the roles of Secretary and Vice-Chair. Margo was previously a manager at George Brown College where she coordinated strategic projects that improved service delivery, supported student success, and strengthened community partnerships.

Other changes to the Board include the election of Wesley Watson at the September Annual General Meeting and the appointment of Nicki Monahan to the Board at last night's meeting. As The 519 is an agency of the City of Toronto, both Wesley's election and Nicki's appointment are subject to the approval of the Toronto and East York Community Council of Toronto City Council.

In electing its new executive, the Board of Management of The 519 expressed its thanks to outgoing Board Chair Tyler Fleming, who will continue to serve as a member of the Board, and to Angeline IcoScott Bomhof and Stephen Menon, each of whom left the Board at the AGM in September.

Full biographies for each of the Executive and Board Members are available in the Leadership section of our website.
