Among Friends LGBTQ Refugee Support Group

Among Friends is a weekly opportunity for LGBTQ refugee claimants to socialize, build community networks, and access information to help with settlement in Canada.

Cultural Arts Makerspace

The 519 has partnered with Pelau Carnival Arts to create a community African Caribbean Cultural Arts Makerspace. This space will facilitate LGBTQ2S members to innovate, create, and develop their skills in the carnival realms of mas, steelpan, and music. Participants will be mentored by professionals in the art of mas and steelpan making, bringing their unique insights and creations to life!

Newcomer Youth Mentorship

Youth Mentorship is a monthly program designed specifically for newcomer youth aged 14-19 who are Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees, residing in Canada for less than five years.

Singing Out

Singing Out is Toronto’s LGBTQ Community Chorus. The choir promotes pride in musical excellence, and fosters a positive image of common goals of belonging, unity, and empowerment.

Spark: Trans Youth Sports

Weekly drop-in program for trans, non-binary and two-spirit youth (ages 16-29) to engage with a range of sports including ultimate frisbee, bouldering, boxing, swimming, ice sports, field sports, etc.

The Youth/Elders Project

In an exciting new partnership between Buddies, The 519, and the Senior Pride Network, The Youth / Elders Project brings together young and old to create a living document of our personal queer histories.

Trans Youth Mentorship Program

The Trans Youth Mentorship Program supports trans-identified youth age 16-29 with their education, training and employment goals.
