Program Types: Legal Initiatives, New to Canada,

The 519 Immigration and Refugee Legal Clinic for LGBTQ+ individuals, after conducting a brief intake, provides virtual and/or In-Person one-time free consultations to support the diverse needs of LGBTQ+ immigrant & refugee communities and residents within our catchment area (Bloor -> Gerrard & Bay -> Parliament). Services are generally available bimonthly, and we serve a maximum of 8 community members per clinic.

General summary advice for LGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers around refugee-related matters and asylum claims with a focus on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Advice includes but is not limited to:

  • refugee claims
  • temporary resident applications
  • visa extensions
  • permanent residence
  • citizenship
  • post-secondary student matters

One-time virtual consultation, by appointment only.

Consultations will be scheduled between 6 to 8 pm.

  • Appointments will be scheduled after a brief intake
  • Referrals will be made on a case-by-case basis
