The Trans People of Colour Project @ The 519

The TPOC project has succesfully secured four incredible peers!

This phase of the 3 year project, provides peer leaders with 16 weeks of free training opportunities for diverse skill development on various personal and professional development topics – including: cooking, anti-oppression, self-care, team building, harm reduction, HIV, and relevant legislation.

Peers will build on their existing lived experiences and develop new and exciting skills.

The objective of the project is to increase employability, provide opportunities for TPOC to take up community leadership, and to develop a cookbook around safer sex and healthy eating.

Peers are entering their second 8 week phase of training on the following topics:

Confidentiality & Boundaries

AODA Standards

Facilitation Skills

Anti-Oppression

2Spirit 101

HIV101

Conflict Resolution

Outreach Strategies & Skills

Exciting outreach and workshop opportunities coming this Spring 2018, with the support and leadership of our superb TPOC peer team.
