Housing Search Websites

At the top of the page select the location you want to search. In the Real Estate section you can search what you are looking for: room rentals, roommates, apartments etc. In the search bar you can search for key words such as LGBTQ, Queer, Trans, Subway, Downtown, etc. You can narrow your search by indicating price range, number of bedrooms, furnished or unfurnished, and so on.

Select from the various options listed under Housing. On the left hand side you can narrow your search through options such as postal code, price range, number of bedrooms, etc. Use the search bar to search for key words. You can also use the map to search for units based on location.

This website is predominately for finding apartment building postings; there is no option to search for roommates. Select province, city, cost, and number of rooms and browse either by post listings or by using the map.

Search for either apartments or rooms for rent and select the city. Narrow your search through the modifying options and search either by browsing the listings or using the map.

Select city and then use the map to locate apartment units and rooms for rent. Use the various filters to adjust price range, indicate number of bedrooms, etc. Be sure to click “Exclude Airbnb” under the “More Filters” button as Airbnb listings only provide short term accommodations.

Use this website to see how walkable the area you are looking at is and what amenities are nearby such as grocery stores, restaurants, laundry mats, etc.

Facebook Pages

If you are on Facebook there are four groups you can join to look for room rentals, apartments, and roommates:

  • Homes for Queers Toronto
  • Sublets for Gypsys
  • Sublets for Nomads
  • Bunz Home Zone

These groups are closed, meaning you have to ask to join the group to see all of the listings and to post. Once you are accepted you can see apartment and room posts, comment on posts/send a message to the poster, write your own post, etc.
