About the Instructor
Alana Nugent has been incredibly passionate within the world of basketball for 20 years. She has earned several MVP awards, attended high performance skill development camps, travelled all over Ontario and into Quebec and Michigan to compete at an elite level. Alana's love for teaching and basketball earned her a position with Basketball Ontario for 6 years as a Clinician, educating youth and elementary school teachers on the fundamentals of basketball.
In the queer community, Alana sat on the Collective Board for Rainbow Hoops from 2007 - 2011 and continues to participate as a player and team rep. She loves this league because it provides her with the opportunity to encourage queer positive participants to get involved in the sport and develop their skills while supporting the queer sport movement.
