Reporting to the Manager, Social Enterprise Restaurant, the Server, Front of House is a member of the front-of-the-house team and is responsible for providing excellent customer service in the dining room, bar and take out areas.


  • Interacts with the customers, takes food orders, provides table service, checks food temperature and quality, while providing friendly timely courteous service;
  • Makes and serving coffee and other hot beverages to a consistently high standard
  • Prepares, heats, packages, and stocks front of house take-out menu items;
  • Handles cash and debit payments following policies, reconciles sales with cash at the end of each shift and reports discrepancies immediately to the supervisor;
  • Maintains and organizes dining room and service areas, assists in the set up and tear down of special events and daily activities;
  • Complies with all requirements and guidelines related to safe food handling practices and all other applicable legislation and regulations including but not limited to Health and Safety, and the business’s various policies;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  1. An interest in and passion for the hospitality/food service industry
  2. Ability to respond to change and pressure in an open environment
  3. A desire to provide excellent customer service
  4. Strong people skills; the ability to work well with customers and co-workers
  5. Experience in the food service industry required
  6. Smart Serve certificate and barista experience considered an asset
  7. Ability to work flexible house as required
